Dear 24 Webster Neighbors and Community,

The 24 Webster Avenue project is continuing on schedule. Over the last month, the construction team has been working hard pouring the concrete foundation for the new building. The next steps will be to begin erecting the building's steel structure.
We expect steel work to begin the week of September 21st and to last 7 weeks. During this time, Everett Street will be closed 24/7 for the placement of a crane that is necessary for the steel construction.  Although we did not originally anticipate closing Everett Street for this duration, closing the street will create a safer work site for both workers and pedestrians, avoid disrupting traffic flow on Webster Ave, and enable the construction team to move more quickly through this phase of the project.  There will be a police detail during working hours and appropriate signage for the detour to Newton Street.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this process. We know that the impacts of construction in your neighborhood can be challenging. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns in the coming weeks.

El proyecto de Webster Avenue, 24, avanza según lo previsto. Durante el último mes, el equipo de construcción ha trabajado intensamente en el vertido de los cimientos de hormigón del nuevo edificio. Las siguientes etapas consistirán en comenzar el montaje de la estructura de acero del edificio.

Prevemos que los trabajos con acero comiencen la semana del 21 de septiembre y se prolonguen durante 7 semanas. This week may have noticed that there has been evening street work, as well as the closure of Everett Street. This is being done by Somerville Water and Sewer, and is unrelated to the 24 Webster Avenue project. We are continuing to work within the typical hours of 7am-6pm.

Dear 24 Webster Avenue Neighbors,

The 24 Webster project is well underway. We will begin pouring concrete for the building's foundation this week. In order to accomodate the concrete pump, you can expect Everett Street in front of the building to be closed to traffic for a few hours on a weekly basis. These street closures will likely take place on Thursdays or Fridays, and will be accompanied by a police detail.

Hi 24 Webster Avenue Neighbors,

The installation of the vertical steel piles at 24 Webster Avenue will be completed this week. Thank you for your patience throughout this noisy and disruptive phase of the project.

You may have seen that we started installing lagging, which are horizontal wooden boards that retain soil as we excavate. Soil is being removed from the site by trucks as we dig. There will be a police detail for the trucks to ensure minimal disruption to traffic. This will continue throughout the month of April.

I am writing with an update on what to expect for the construction at 24 Webster over the next few weeks. The next phase of work involves preparing the site for excavation by installing soldier piles. You will begin to see some large equipment, such as a crane, on site. This work will be loud and may cause some vibration, which we will be monitoring. We expect this phase of work to go through the end of March. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Dear 24 Webster Avenue Neighbors,

I am writing to inform you that we will begin demolition of the 24 Webster Avenue building next week, Tuesday, February 17th. We expect demolition to last approximately 3 weeks. We do not expect any road closures during this time. Our General Contractor will be working diligently to mitigate dust and debris. As always, please reach out if you have any questions.
